3 Ways To Boost Your Confidence
Self-confidence is the foundation of a happy life.
It's a game changer when you walk out your door, ready to face the day, with confidence.
Your head is high, shoulders are pulled back, and there's power when you push off to take another step.
A deep knowing that you can do anything you set your mind to, because you are capable, you follow through on promises, and you have a strong sense of self.
When you feel confident, you experience less anxiety, your relationships are better, and you don't sweat the small stuff.
Confidence is Learned
Sure there are some that are born with an abundance of self-knowing and assurance. But the majority of us are not, which means we have to manufacture it.
Here are 3 Ways to Become More Confident:
- Experience small wins.
- Bench your inner critic.
- Make choices that align with your core values.
Small Victories:
Start accomplishing small goals.
For example, rather than organizing the entire house on a weekend, start with a junk drawer and the entryway closet.
Or instead of saying you will exercise for one hour everyday (when you know you don't have the time or that level of commitment) start with 15-minutes a day.
Complete a task or goal and instantly you get a boost in the "I can do anything I set my mind to" department.
Be Aware of Your Thoughts:
Your thoughts are incredibly powerful. In fact there is a tipping point where your brain no longer knows the difference between a random thought or a fact.
Tune in more to the inner dialogue and begin challenging some of your thoughts.
Stay True to Yourself:
The biggest thing that helps me feel more confident is staying true to my core values.
Integrity is huge for me. As long as I remain a woman with great integrity, I feel on top of the world.
That's why I know living a life that reflects what I value, makes me feel more confident.
If you have never thought about your five core values (the values that you base your daily decisions on) take a few minutes to reflect on what's important to you every day. For example here are my top values: Fun, family time, love, integrity, and generosity.
Take Action
It's easy to consume content and learn strategies. It's far more difficult to learn something and then take action.
Today, choose one out of the three ways listened above and implement it.
Because as we have learned, confidence is crucial if we want to live a happy and fulfilled life.
